Learn to Sew - Beginners (IW)
So you’ve got a machine and want to learn to sew. How do you get started?
This beginner course will guide you through the basics of sewing and build on your skills each week with projects including a cushion cover, a tote bag, kids' bloomers/shorts, and a girl's dress. You will get to know your machine and gain a new set of skills including basic construction, reading a pattern, finishing seams, fitting garments, sewing buttonholes and inserting a zipper.
Perfect for absolute beginners or people who haven't sewed since high school, this course will give you the confidence to start up your own sewing projects at home!
When: Fridays, 8 June - 6 July 2018, 12:30pm-2:30pm
Duration: 5 x 2-hour weekly sessions (10 hours total)
Venue: Glebe Town Hall

We will learn all about our machines, how to thread it and practice stitching.
Week two – Bloomers

Fabric to bring: 1m x cotton fabric
Week four – Cushion Cover
Fabric to bring: 1m cotton fabric and 1 cushion insert.
Week five – Tote Bag
