Cake Decorating [Intermediate] (ES)
Take your cake decorating skills to the next level with Seed and Spark’s Intermediate Cake Decorating Course! Suitable for students who have completed the cake decorating beginner course. Learn 3D shapes such as a scary dragon! Perfect additional buttercream techniques such as ombre, ruffles and petals.
Time: Fridays, 17 August-14 September 2018, 1:00pm-2:30pm
Duration: 5 x 1.5 hour workshops, 7.5 hours total

Week 1: Carving and shaping
Make your very own dragon cake! Learn the basics of carving and shaping a simple 3D design using mud cake and finishing and smoothing with chocolate ganache.
Week 2: Cover/decorate 3D shapes
Complete your dragon; learn to cover and decorate 3D shapes using fondant and making fondant shapes and accents to complete your design.
Week 3: Buttercream techniques
Perfect your buttercream techniques. Learn to decorate a cake with delicate buttercream ombre effects and learn techniques such as the petal cake and the ruffle cake.

Meet the teacher:
Lesley is the owner and operator of For Heaven’s Cake, based in Coogee. Although working in finance for much of her professional life, Lesley had always had a passion for baking. Ten years ago she decided to take the plunge and change careers, training in Baking and Pastry at Sydney TAFE. Whilst attending this course, Lesley discovered a love of cake decorating, which led to her starting her own business producing celebration cakes, cupcakes and cookies. Lesley is happy to share her passion with students and looks forward to welcoming you all to class!
