Introduction to Watercolours continuers (4 Weeks, November)
Wanting to create art for your little one's nursery or bedroom?
Add a touch of personalised charm that will become a treasure for life. Students will be led through a different exercise each week with the end goal of completing a series of finished artworks than can be framed and hung at home.
Week One - Personalised Name Wreath
Students will be introduced to colour mixing and basic floral and botanical elements in order to create a beautiful piece with your little one's name in the centre. Colour harmony, choosing complementary colours, as well as paint application techniques will be covered in the lesson. Each wreath can be customised to suit the nursery colour palette for a beautiful finished composition.
Week Two - Sweet Pierrot
Students will learn to draw and paint a simple but charming little character such as a funny clown or bashful pierrot, with a hint of vintage fairytale circus charm. Students will choose a colour palette to work with, and be offered costuming choices and how to draw them without too much difficulty.
Week Three - Nursery Still Life
Does your little one have a favourite plushie, rattle, or toy? Bring in a favourite item as the inspiration for today. Students will be introduced to drawing techniques and observing from life. Learn to mix colours to represent the special item and eternalise it forever.
Week Four - For the final week students will be encouraged to design their own little Nursery Guardian! Ideas on how to imagine and create your very own little character fit for a picture book. Expressions, poses, body language and creating a back story will be covered. The end result will be a cute character that you can incorporate into stories for years to come!
