Learn To Sew for Beginner (4 Weeks, Fridays)
Want to learn (or remember) how to sew? This course will guide you through the basics of sewing and build on your skills each week with a range of simple projects.
You will get to know your machine and gain a new set of skills including basic construction, reading a pattern, finishing seams, fitting garments, sewing buttonholes, and inserting a zipper.
Duration: 4 x 2-hour sessions, once weekly for 4 consecutive weeks

You will need to bring your own sewing machine however a small number of machines are available for hire for $10 a week.
Course outline
Week 1 – Learn to use the machine and sew a pillowcase
Week 2 – Baby Bloomers or Children's Pyjama pants
Week 3 – Girl's Dress or Child's Vest
Week 4 – Zips and Buttonholes
Week one – The basics
We will learn all about our machines, what all those knobs and buttons do, how to thread it and practice stitching. You will also learn about seam allowances and finishing a garment. We will put that knowledge to use and sew a quick pillowcase.
Week two – Baby Bloomers or Children's Pyjama pants
A great quick project to further your skills about cutting out a pattern on the fabric and basic construction.
Fabric to bring: Baby bloomer: 50cm x cotton fabric. Pj Pants 1-1.5m x cotton fabric
Week three – Girl's dress or Child's vest
We’ll expand on our construction skills this week by making a little girl's a-line dress. We will learn french seams and other ways to finish a garment. Or you can make a child's vest, you will learn how to line a garment.
Fabric to bring: Dress = 1m x cotton fabric. Vest = 1m x 2 cotton fabrics
Week four – Zips and Buttonholes
It's time to face Zips and buttonholes! We will practice by making a simple pencil case (fabric & zip provided).
If you made the vest you can put the buttonholes and buttons on the vest (byo buttons)

Social Media Marketing (4 Weeks November)
Create effective and engaging content, social media and PR strategies to help grow your business or brand.
The course will help you to understand the current social media landscape. Understand your target market and create a social media content strategy to target them using effective messaging and branding techniques.
We will deep dive into Facebook and Instagram and look at tools, tips and tricks to maximise growth and effectiveness, plus take a look at the current social media landscape to ensure you are speaking to your target audience clearly and effectively, so your message resonates.
Learn also to use analytics to track your progress and measure social media success as part of a wider content marketing strategy.
Class is best suited for people with their own business looking to create better content and build more engagement or someone interested in social media and wants to learn more for a potential career interest.
Week 1.Current Social Media Landscape.
We will look at Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok and Clubhouse and talk about their role in your Social Media Strategy
Week 2.
Target Market; Ideal Client Profile.
We will explore how to identify your target market and workshop what it is for your business, or passion project.
Week 3. Social Media Strategy
We will look at how to bring together your strategy to focus on the core Social Media channels for your business to reach your target market. We will discuss the latest tools, tips and tricks to maximise on Facebook and Instagram.
Week 4.
Understanding Analytics
We will look at how your analytics will help you understand your success. Diving into Facebook and Instagram Analytics and how to make meaning from data.

Hand building clay online workshop

Introduction to Watercolours (4 weeks, Nov)
Come and learn the basics of painting with watercolours. Learning simple colour theory, mixing, blending, and application techniques.
Each lesson will have simple and aesthetically attractive project to complete including botanicals, still life, and illustration. Create a small collection of colourful and charming artworks that will be ready to frame and display.
Materials List:
- A4 pad of good quality watercolour paper such as Arches or similar.
- 3 nylon brushes in a small, medium and large size (such as size 1, 5, and 10).
- Watercolour palette (Winsor & Newton recommended, but a small beginners palette of any brand will suffice).
Spares are available if you forget but it's good to have your own so you can go home and practice your new found skills.

Monika Diak is an artist based in the Blue Mountains who works predominantly in watercolours and illustrations. Her work has appeared in children’s books, on the covers of Sci-Fi Young Adult novels, and in exhibitions across Australia, Japan, Europe and the UK.
She has a BFA from the National Art School (majoring in Printmaking) and completed her Honours in 2020 at the Sydney College of the Arts, University of Sydney, where she received the Artereal Gallery Mentorship Award.

Christmas Wreath making with dried florals
Our experienced instructor will guide you through step-by-step the technicalities of constructing your wreath so it is strong and can withstand any type of season .
Once you learn how to make one you can make many many more on your own as gifts of for the years to come.

Introduction to Watercolours continuers (4 Weeks, November)
Wanting to create art for your little one's nursery or bedroom?
Add a touch of personalised charm that will become a treasure for life. Students will be led through a different exercise each week with the end goal of completing a series of finished artworks than can be framed and hung at home.
Week One - Personalised Name Wreath
Students will be introduced to colour mixing and basic floral and botanical elements in order to create a beautiful piece with your little one's name in the centre. Colour harmony, choosing complementary colours, as well as paint application techniques will be covered in the lesson. Each wreath can be customised to suit the nursery colour palette for a beautiful finished composition.
Week Two - Sweet Pierrot
Students will learn to draw and paint a simple but charming little character such as a funny clown or bashful pierrot, with a hint of vintage fairytale circus charm. Students will choose a colour palette to work with, and be offered costuming choices and how to draw them without too much difficulty.
Week Three - Nursery Still Life
Does your little one have a favourite plushie, rattle, or toy? Bring in a favourite item as the inspiration for today. Students will be introduced to drawing techniques and observing from life. Learn to mix colours to represent the special item and eternalise it forever.
Week Four - For the final week students will be encouraged to design their own little Nursery Guardian! Ideas on how to imagine and create your very own little character fit for a picture book. Expressions, poses, body language and creating a back story will be covered. The end result will be a cute character that you can incorporate into stories for years to come!

Nothing is more relaxing than playing with flowers, or more beautiful than a perfectly composed floral arrangement. If you've always wanted to be able to create florist-quality arrangements, bouquets and floral accessories in your own home, this is the course for you.
All the basics of floral design will be covered, including hand-tied bouquets, pot arrangements, and floral wiring with dried preserves.
